There are several great retailers out there which sell quality cleats, great brands, and great performance style for any soccer player today. However, cleats that are powerful and will offer the best protection on the soccer field, can be pretty pricey if you do not shop at the right places for your cleats. You want to make sure to shop at a reputable sportings goods store, or reputable soccer store; or if shopping online, a reputable online dealer, which is known for selling only the best in soccer cleats. Is this new to you? Catch up here But, you also want to save the most money, so finding the balance of both these tasks is going to take some effort on the purchasers behalf. You want to make sure to shop around, and get several price ranges, but you don’t want to visit stores just for price.

You must make sure that you go to stores which are known to sell only soccer cleats, of the best quality, durability, and materials. You also want to make sure to find three or four stores to comparisson shop with. From there, you will obviously choose the store with the best sales personnel, knowledge, and of course the best prices for you.

Stopping a penalty shot in any sport is difficult, in soccer, it may be almost impossible. There is no reason to get discouraged though because many techniques exist to improve your chances.

A goalie must stand on the goalline until the player kicks the ball. What a great goalie will do to try and stop a penalty shot is predict where the shooter is going to shoot the ball. A prediction is different from a guess, in a prediction you are playing the odds. The whole story can be found at http://www.shoppingblog.com/blog/7061122 A good way to make this prediction is determine if they are left-footed or right-footed. Then, observe where they had been kicking the ball earlier in the game. Did the player like to shoot towards the near post or the far post?

When you pick up on patterns of opposing players, this makes your prediction rate increase. When you have predicted where they will kick the ball, stick to that prediction with your whole heart. At that point, you want to remain light on your feet. You want to study the shooter as they approach the ball and to not give anything away as to your prediction. Then, when they kick the ball, move your body to the spot of your prediction for the save.

Anyone who is a soccer fan has like heard the expression ‘bend it like Beckham.’ This is essentially a unique way to kick a soccer ball, which imparts a massive amount of side spin. The defenders, and goalie, will be expecting the ball to have a straight, rising trajectory, only to find that the ball curves several feet at the last second. This is an excellent way to score a lot of goals, if the player can master the technique.

How does he do it? Well, the technique is actually pretty simple to explain, but it will take a ton of practice to master. This helps explain it more. The first thing that he has to do is strike it with the middle of his foot. Many players have a tendency to kick with their toe, which does not allow them to have maximum accuracy or the ability to work the ball. Assuming the player has the ‘soccer style’ kicking technique mastered, the concept is easy. The ball operates off of friction, which is the same concept of curving a ping pong ball. The player must find a way to add more friction to the ball. Beckham simply snaps his ankle into the ball, while aiming left of a right target, or vise versa.

The Women’s World Cup has just ended but odds are you followed every game carefully on ESPN and your direct star tv channels. There were a number of amazing players this year but here’s who we think stood out as the stars of the tournament:
Abbey Waumbach: The US forward scored more goals in the World Cup than any other player and with her height and seeming inability to get tired she shined far above the other players as a formidable opponent. She’s got great sportsmanlike conduct, too!
Marta: The perennial favorite from Brazil was back in a way only Marta could be – she led her team in scoring and really helped keep Brazil in the tournament longer than they probably should have been. There’s a reason the girl’s a star.
Hope Solo: The American goalie made her fair share of saves and nearly helped the US squeak it out in the final against Japan even after being nearly counted out. Hope’s not only beautiful, she’s one of the best goalies in the world.

Soccer is the most popular sport in the world. It has become the number one sport of most countries, all except for America. In America fans are more concerned with football, baseball and basketball. But should they equally be excited about the sport of soccer? The answer to that question is, yes, they should be excited about soccer. Let’s take a look at reasons why.

Soccer is full of nonstop action. Sure the scoring in soccer is typically low, but that isn’t an accurate indicator of the action level in the sport. The athletes are constantly moving and trying to score and stop each other from scoring. In a soccer game there are many close calls when it comes to scoring that lead to it being rather exciting to watch. Even though the goal might not have been scored, the action leading up to the goal attempt is fun to watch.

The sport of soccer is easy for anyone to play. All you need is a ball and some space. You can play it in the driveway or at the park. You can make goals out of anything. Some kids even use trash cans as goals. Soccer is truly a fun sport that more Americans should get excited about.

El Clasico is arguably the biggest soccer rivalry in the world. Real Madrid V. FC Barcelona: the fight for supremacy in La Liga. Combined they have won 52 league titles, and have been runner’s up another 43 times. Twice a year they meet in league play, with the games always meaning something, if only bragging rights for the two teams. It’s the two biggest cities in Spain going at it, as well as the two most passionate fan bases. It doesn’t matter how good of a season you are having: if you don’t beat your rival you cannot claim dominance on them.

The rivalry has been fairly evenly matched. In 162 La Liga meetings Real Madrid has won 68 times, while FC Barcelona has won 63 times. 31 of the matches ended in ties. In fact Real Madrid has only scored seven more goals than Barcelona has in the series, 259-252. With that said, FC Barcelona has dominated recent play, winning five straight matches from December 2008 through November 2010. The most recent El Clasico match, which occurred on April 16, 2011, saw the teams tie 1-1. FC Barcelona got the last laugh, though, winning their third straight La Liga title.
