Stopping a penalty shot in any sport is difficult, in soccer, it may be almost impossible. There is no reason to get discouraged though because many techniques exist to improve your chances.

When you pick up on patterns of opposing players, this makes your prediction rate increase. When you have predicted where they will kick the ball, stick to that prediction with your whole heart. At that point, you want to remain light on your feet. You want to study the shooter as they approach the ball and to not give anything away as to your prediction. Then, when they kick the ball, move your body to the spot of your prediction for the save.
