Outstanding Players in the Women’s World Cup

The Women’s World Cup has just ended but odds are you followed every game carefully on ESPN and your direct star tv channels. There were a number of amazing players this year but here’s who we think stood out as the stars of the tournament:
Abbey Waumbach: The US forward scored more goals in the World Cup than any other player and with her height and seeming inability to get tired she shined far above the other players as a formidable opponent. She’s got great sportsmanlike conduct, too!
Marta: The perennial favorite from Brazil was back in a way only Marta could be – she led her team in scoring and really helped keep Brazil in the tournament longer than they probably should have been. There’s a reason the girl’s a star.
Hope Solo: The American goalie made her fair share of saves and nearly helped the US squeak it out in the final against Japan even after being nearly counted out. Hope’s not only beautiful, she’s one of the best goalies in the world.
